Self Catering Holiday Cottage in
Mathry, North Pembrokeshire
Corner House sits in the centre of the historic hilltop village of Mathry. Lovingly refurbished within recent years, the holiday cottage has retained its character and is presented, furnished and equipped to a high standard, with full central heating. It provides a very comfortable accommodation for families or friends to enjoy a self-catering holiday, or shorter break, all year round. One well-behaved dog is also welcome, by agreement.
Lying between St Davids and Fishguard, Mathry is ideally placed for exploring North Pembrokeshire's dramatic coastline, Blue Flag beaches and the Preseli Hills. Paths from the village run down to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, around 1.5 miles away.
Mathry is centred around the parish church. Corner House is at one corner of the church grounds while our local pub is at the next. The Farmers Arms offers a warm welcome to visitors, good food - much of it home made - and a well kept range of beers. It is family and children friendly and our visitors book is full of praise.
Stephanies Tea rooms is virtually next door. Snacks and lunches or just a coffee with home made cakes in the garden. The village shop and post office is also close at hand.
Inside
Corner House sleeps 4 adults, with one double bedroom, (with en-suite shower and WC), and two single rooms, all on the first floor. The main bathroom is on the ground floor. A cot and highchair are available.The large living room and dining area has two sofas and an armchair arranged by the wood burning stove. There is a TV, with Freeview, a DVD player and a HiFi with a connection for your MP3 player. The dining area has an oak table and 4 chairs, together with a bookcase and dresser stocked with a range of books, magazines, games and local information.
The kitchen/breakfast room was hand made by the local wood-turner in stained solid ash. It is equipped with an electric hob and double oven, dishwasher, microwave, a large fridge-freezer and a table and chairs. It is well equipped for cooking, and there are plenty of mugs and glasses, crockery, pots, pans and utensils.
The washing machine and tumble drier are in the boiler room, where there is also some room to hang wet clothes if needs be.
Fresh bed linen is provided and there is no charge for heating.

Outside
To the front of the cottage is a small, walled seating area. This is a lovely sun-trap and a good place to relax and read or have a pre-dinner drink. There is no garden.Parking is on the road to the front and side of Corner House.
