Oh to be in Pembrokeshire now that April's here...


Our Easter guests enjoyed their break, and last weekend was fabulous: bright sun, swallows streaming in from their migration, choughs calling on the breeze, gorse brilliant yellow against the deep blue sky...gorgeous!

New Year - new holidays!


2015 was a very busy year for Corner House. We had very few vacant weeks from May through to the end of October, and have an increasing number of regular guests. Some have returned more than 6 times!

November in Pembrokeshire


The first weekend of November was amazing in west Wales: Temperatures over 20 deg C, butterflies, dragonflies, busy beaches, surfers and ice cream!

Great weekend


We've just had a great weekend at Corner House. Meal in the local pub, walks on Newgale beach and the coast path with our dog, and fish and chips at The Shed in Porthgain. Lots of birdlife - peregrine, choughs and Manx shearwaters among others.

The village pub Mathry


Great to see the Farmers Arms getting really good reviews on the web. Really good pub food and hearty welcome after the change of ownership in March.

Easter at Mathry


Easter at Corner House and the Mathry area was stunning. Gorgeous beach walks, and a good number of people around. The pub was doing well serving lots of meals. Saw our first swallows and house martins.

Mathry tea rooms


The new tea rooms has been open a few weeks and is proving popular already. Full Welsh breakfast, lunches, coffee & home made cakes or high tea with sandwiches, cakes & "fancies".

a boat trip to, or around, the famous Skomer Island is a treat now the puffins are back in numbers.

Bird life


The photo of the young peregrines at the top of the website was taken by us late one summer on the coast path. You never know what you might see while exploring!
